Summary Responsible
for a wide variety of ongoing projects from concept to completion with a focus
on social media practice relations and educational training planning. Under
the direct supervision of the Principal Investigator and Leadership the Research
Communications Specialist will provide high-level communication and
administrative support to assigned research and programmatic activities
associated with various clinical and public health projects. Projects will
include those related to HIV prevention HIV education pre-exposure
prophylaxis (PrEP) sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and substance use.
This
position will interact directly with the general public MDs PhDs
collaborators community partners vendors and the Rhode Island Department of

Other Information EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor of Science degree in
communications business administration public administration or public
health preferred.
Basic computer knowledge and
ability to navigate PC software i.e. proficiency in typing/word processing
utilizing spreadsheets for data management and data entry required.
Familiarity with building and managing REDCap databases and understanding best
practices for content creation preferred.
Comfortable navigating a
variety of websites and social media platforms and ability to concisely draft
social media content.
Excellent ability to gather
synthesize and present data and complex information to a variety of audiences
Strong Writing Skills And Demonstrated Attention To Detail Required. Timeliness and responsiveness highly desired. Ability to be flexible and re-prioritize
tasks as needed.
Strong personal initiative as
a self-starter required including demonstrated ability to work independently
motivation to learn and comfort interfacing with clinic patients and community
members.
A minimum of 3-years
academic/program experience preferably in public health communications
education or related fields.
Excellent verbal and written
skills. The ability to interact with persons from diverse backgrounds such as
MDs PhDs and research and administrative staff.
Fluency in written and spoken
Spanish and/or Portuguese highly desired.
Experience in the creation of
social media content preferred.
Experience in academic
writing preferred.
Meaningful experience
participating in and serving communities of color LGBTQ+ and transgender
communities and other structurally oppressed populations; strong interpersonal
skills with diverse populations.
