Position: Nurse Midwife
As a Nurse Midwife, you will play a crucial role in providing expert care to expectant mothers, guiding them through the full pregnancy, labor, and postpartum journey. Your care will ensure both the mother and baby receive exceptional attention, from providing emotional support to delivering medical expertise in every stage of childbirth.
Key Responsibilities:
Prenatal Care:
Provide comprehensive prenatal care, including regular check-ups, health assessments for both mother and baby, and health education.
Conduct physical exams, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and offer guidance on healthy pregnancy practices.
Labor & Delivery Support:
Support mothers through labor and delivery, ensuring safety, comfort, and emotional well-being.
Monitor labor progress, manage complications, and provide pain management strategies.
Postnatal Care:
Deliver postnatal care for both mother and newborn, offering assessments, breastfeeding assistance, and newborn care guidance.
Monitor recovery and address any concerns or complications post-delivery.
Patient Education & Health Promotion:
Educate families on pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum care, and newborn care.
Advocate for healthy lifestyle practices, focusing on nutrition, mental health, and preventive care for women.
Collaboration with Healthcare Providers:
Work closely with obstetricians, pediatricians, nurses, and other specialists to ensure seamless and comprehensive patient care.
Refer patients to specialists when necessary and collaborate on complex cases.
Record Keeping & Documentation:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including prenatal visits, labor and delivery, and postnatal care details.
Emergency Response:
Respond to obstetric emergencies and coordinate with hospital staff or emergency services when necessary.
Skills and Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors degree in Midwifery, Nursing, or a related field, with certification in midwifery from an accredited program.
Licensure: Valid state licensure to practice as a Nurse Midwife.
Experience: Prior experience in midwifery or maternal healthcare is preferred.
Clinical Skills: Expertise in prenatal, labor, delivery, and postnatal care, with the ability to manage obstetric emergencies.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for educating patients and collaborating with healthcare teams.
Compassion and Empathy: A genuine passion for supporting expectant mothers and their families through compassionate care.
Critical Thinking: Ability to make quick decisions in high-pressure situations.
