Job Description

Our food manufacturing client is currently seeking a Maintenance Planner near Minneapolis, MN

This job will have the following responsibilities:

  • Ensure plant standards comply with corporate policies, leveraging the CMMS system and adhering to master data standards.
  • Review approved work orders to confirm Safety, Material, People, Tools, When, Where, Information (SIMPTWWI) are included in job plans.
  • Maintain CMMS assets with updated BOMs, PMs, and critical spares, adding new assets as necessary.
  • Drive reliability, availability, and maintainability improvements by addressing top plant losses and participating in Daily Direction Setting meetings. Apply knowledge of Quality Management Systems, including SQF, HACCP, and GMP practices.
  • Manage spare parts, ensuring safety stock levels and maintenance strategies align with standards.
  • Develop and share the weekly plant maintenance plan, incorporating standard plant stops and document all maintenance activities in the CMMS system.
  • Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager on action plans to meet key metrics and goals.
  • Support the Preventative Maintenance (PM) program to minimize unscheduled downtime.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Good understanding of mechanical and electrical systems
  • Minimum of three years mechanical/industrial experience or 2 year technical degree required
  • Able to identify component failure modes and counter-measure preventive maintenance tasks
  • Great communication skills, able to read, write and speak in English
  • Ability to coach maintenance team and leaders on changes to or creation of maintenance standards
  • Experience working with Master Data and CMMS systems
  • Able to complete required training for a forklift license within 90 days of hire and for a HACCP certificate
  • Experience with packaging equipment, baked goods and ovens preferred
  • Must be able to move around the facility, bend, kneel and lift as required
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends, as needed
