THINK360 is a project-based learning school for neurodivergent learners who need non-traditional ways to learn and shape their future. Our mission is to cultivate a dynamic educational experience for elementary and middle school students by fostering creativity, meaningful connections, and the confidence to think critically in an ever-evolving world.

POSITION SUMMARY:

In some ways a THINK360 Academy Coach is similar to a traditional teacher. Coaches truly enjoy being with young people and supporting their growth. They must have strong relationships with a small group of students and their families. They must have a high standard of excellence in terms of academic achievement and be familiar with learning standards. Finally, Coaches need to deeply know their students and connect them with educational experiences they will find fun and engaging. 

However, in many ways being a THINK360 Academy Coach is not like being a traditional teacher at all. THINK360 Academy Coaches manage a small group of students; less than a single class. Instead of focusing on classwide or grade level trends, Coaches are responsible for crafting individualized activities, plans, and goals for each of their students. You as a Coach have more flexibility and autonomy than a traditional teacher to do what you believe is best for the students. If there’s a new exhibit at a local museum you want to take the students to, you can make that happen. If enough students love Legos, then create a First Lego League team.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Learning Coach

• Observe, mentor, and guide students in a project-based learning environment.
• Develop and implement individualized lesson plans, independent learning exercises, and curricula.
• Foster a safe, clean, and stimulating classroom where all students feel valued.
• Build strong, trust-based relationships with students.
• Set an exemplary standard for students, modeling values like honesty, accountability, respect, and kindness.
• Monitor student progress and provide written reports.
• Ensure classroom supplies and equipment are ready and functional.
• Handle administrative tasks, including updating records on the school database.
• Participate in school activities and accompany students on field trips.
• Serve as a Socratic educator, facilitating inquiry-based learning.

Culture Builder

• A leader and culture builder. Thinks strategically about how to create a harmonious environment where kids want to be.
• Highly effective communicator. Constantly in touch with families. Sends out weekly written updates on activities.
• Organized and prepared. Enrichment activities planned in advance. Learning Center calendar kept up to date.
• Has hobbies, expertise, or skills that students find interesting (art, board games, puzzles, sports, etc).
• A connected member of the community. Someone who is always seeking out learning experiences happening close by.
• Exercises exceptionally good judgment. Errs on the side of caution and safety when making decisions concerning students.

Local Leader/Ambassador

• Is well connected to the local parent community.
• Interested to expand their local network by representing THINK360 Academy at local events (occasionally outside of traditional hours) and fostering partnerships with local institutions
• Be passionate about their students. Connect with their parents and build a community. Capture the magic happening at their pod regularly for their parents and marketing purposes

Team Member

• Open to feedback. Prioritizes their own growth and personal development.
• Solutions oriented. Quick to identify and communicate challenges. Equally as quick to propose solutions and options.
• Flexibility and the ability to quickly change course are essential.

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATION/REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree. 
• Certified teacher preferably with a special education specialization. 
• At least 4 years of teaching experience.
• Experience working with students with neurodiversities
• Other experience working with young people (e.g. - coaching) is also prioritized.
