Estimator

Overview

The Estimator is responsible for overseeing pre-construction activities for assigned projects. This role involves working closely with clients, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure a smooth and efficient pre-construction process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop competitive bids by reviewing project specifications, drawings, and construction documents.
  • Analyze project details to identify potential risks and construction-related concerns.
  • Perform quantity take-offs using knowledge of construction techniques, methods, and historical cost data.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to determine accurate project costs.
  • Estimate costs for various construction scopes, systems, and assemblies.
  • Prepare detailed project bids, budgets, and cost evaluations.
  • Assist in creating pre-construction and construction schedules alongside project teams.
  • Develop responses to RFPs and support the proposal process.
  • Compile bid packages, project budgets, and change orders as needed.
  • Participate in business development efforts and present proposals to clients.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Stable work history with proven experience in estimating.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and time management abilities.

Education & Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience estimating commercial construction projects ranging from $1M to $30M.
  • A degree in Construction Management or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience with cloud-based construction management software (e.g., Procore) is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Excel-based estimating tools or similar software, as well as MS Office.

Working Conditions

  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds when necessary.
  • Combination of sitting and standing for extended periods.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
