Title: Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS)

Location: Tehachapi, California

Job Type: 13 Weeks Contract

Shifts: Variable shifts, including both 10-hour and 12-hour shifts, with flexibility to work days and nights.

Job Summary:

The Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) will be responsible for performing laboratory tests, particularly in the blood bank area, while adhering to regulatory standards and ensuring accurate results. The CLS must be flexible to work a combination of 10-hour and 12-hour shifts, including both day and night shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform laboratory tests and analyses, including blood bank functions, according to established procedures.
• Ensure all test results are accurate, documented, and reported in a timely manner.
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment as needed.
• Assist in ensuring proper compliance with health and safety standards, infection control protocols, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with medical staff to interpret and communicate test results.
• Follow protocols to ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of biological samples.
• Troubleshoot technical issues with laboratory equipment and resolve problems as needed.
• Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date with laboratory technologies and procedures.

Qualifications:

• License: Must hold a valid California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license.
• Experience: Previous experience in a laboratory setting, particularly with blood bank functions, is highly preferred.
• Skills: Strong knowledge of laboratory practices, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is preferred, but not required.
