Job Description

The Barista position at Caviar & Bananas - George Street acts as our customer service expert as well as crafting coffee, espresso, and tea beverages.

We expect Barista candidates to be familiar with the Food & Beverage industry and open to working in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

An ideal Barista combines customer service, attention to detail, a strong work ethic, the ability to work as part of a team, and openness to learning the craft of coffee (if not already familiar).

Job responsibilities include: Cashier/Customer Service work, Maintaining the cleanliness of the dining room, Brewing coffee and espresso along with steaming milk appropriately for lattes and cappuccinos. Proper food handling and hygiene is a must.

We work on a schedule that is largely affected by the College of Charleston, so our peak hours match that of the class schedule. We are looking to hire Baristas who are available to work early in the morning throughout the week as well as intermittent shifts throughout the day and weekend. Flexible scheduling is available.

Our Barista staff benefits from a tip-sharing pool generated from all customer transactions throughout the pay period.
